Wave rock

I choose this site because it is unique in a way because it is shaped like a wave that is 15 metres tall. Wave rock is about 350km east of Perth and is situated near a town called Hyden in Western Australia. Wave Rock has cultural backgrounds to it because it was found by the Aboriginals. It is 110km long. More than 140,000 people visit the rock a year. The rock is made up of the rock of granite. The wave shape is formed by natural phenomenon not a wave phenomenon. The locals celebrate with a music festival every year during late September. It is believed that it started forming about 2700 million years when it started to form. Wave rock is just kilometres from the great western highway. The colour of the rock is created by the rain and washing chemicals down the face of the rock . The darker parts of the rock is created by algae build up. During the day when the sun shines on it the colour will slightly convert to a lighter colour. The rock is all so used as a catchment to collect water into the local dam. the catchment is attached to the edge of the rock.
